Haptivate Companion is provided by Kashif Shaikh, under the Finely Studio brand, at Fortune Prospero, Pune, India, 411048. This policy covers our iPhone app and support for it.
Privacy and support contact: [email protected].
The short version
Companion is free and does not require a Haptivate account. You can try its local haptic practice without connecting a Mac. It does not include advertising, tracking, third-party analytics SDKs or in-app purchases. Connecting to Studio exchanges haptic information directly between your approved devices. We receive support messages only when you choose to contact us.
Information kept on your iPhone
Companion stores practice settings and saved local drafts. During use, it also keeps local playback and connection records to help diagnose issues. These can include the selected strength, interaction values, pattern or session identifiers, timing, app and operating-system versions and playback or synchronization status.
Local history records update checks and review-request attempts. The app uses this history on your device to decide when to offer these prompts. It does not send the history, saved drafts or playback logs to us automatically.
Patterns received from Studio are used to prepare and play your selected experience. Any personal information you put into pattern names or content can therefore be transferred to your approved phone. Device backups may contain app data according to your backup settings; Haptivate does not operate a cloud backup or project account.
Bluetooth and approved Macs
Bluetooth permission is used for the connection to Haptivate Studio. While available for connection, the phone can advertise its device name and a Bluetooth identifier to nearby devices. Approve only a Mac you recognize.
After approval, the apps exchange selected patterns, names and revisions, playback and interaction commands, supported capabilities and acknowledgments needed to show synchronization and playback status. This exchange is local between your devices, not through a Finely Studio server.
Companion stores information about the approved Mac and protects pairing material in the operating system's Keychain so you do not have to approve every reconnection. You can disconnect, select Forget This Mac or revoke Bluetooth permission in iPhone settings. Standalone practice does not need Bluetooth. Forgetting a Mac does not remove files already saved there.
Apple updates, reviews and diagnostics
When Companion checks for App Store updates, it requests public version information from Apple using its App Store identifier and storefront country. Apple receives the network request, including its IP address. Your installed version is compared on the phone; your saved draft and playback logs are not sent in the lookup.
Review requests use Apple's system. Companion records the request attempt, but cannot determine whether you submitted a review. A review you submit may be publicly visible. Apple separately handles App Store downloads and reviews under its App Store privacy information.
Apple may provide us store statistics and diagnostics. App usage analytics made available through App Store Connect depend on your Apple sharing settings; they do not come from an analytics SDK in Companion. See Apple's analytics privacy explanation.
There are no purchases to make or restore in Companion. If you separately buy export access in Studio, the Studio privacy policy explains that processing.
Support messages and service providers
If you email us, we receive your email address, name if supplied, message and any attachments you send. Our website contact form requires a name and email address and also collects an enquiry topic, app selection when relevant and message; it does not accept attachments. We use them to answer your request and investigate problems. Please remove sensitive or unrelated information from screenshots and diagnostic files. Companion does not automatically upload those files.
Our support inbox uses GoDaddy Professional Email powered by Titan. GoDaddy, Titan and the providers involved in delivering and storing email process the messages you send us and may process them outside your country. See GoDaddy's privacy notice and Titan's privacy policy for their practices; this policy explains how we handle support messages. The website privacy policy separately explains Hostinger hosting, Cloudflare delivery and Turnstile security checks, contact-session cookies and email handling. These website services do not receive your local app drafts merely because you use Companion.
Purpose and sharing
We use information to provide the features you request, answer and resolve support requests, protect the apps and comply with legal obligations. Where a legal basis is required, the relevant basis is providing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in support and security, compliance with law or consent where required. You can withdraw Bluetooth permission in iPhone settings.
We do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising. Support information is available to the people and service providers needed to handle it. We may disclose information where legally required or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not upload your patterns to an AI service.
Retention and deletion
- Local drafts, settings and records: these remain on your phone until replaced or removed. Deleting Companion, rather than offloading it, removes its app-container data. Copies in device backups follow your backup settings and may remain until those backups are removed or replaced.
- Saved pairing: choose Forget This Mac before deleting the app if you want to remove its saved pairing information. Keychain information can survive deletion and reinstallation. This does not erase data on the Mac.
- Support correspondence: we delete ordinary messages within 12 months after the issue closes, except where law or an active dispute requires longer retention. Restricted email-provider backups may persist until their backup cycle removes them. Necessary legal or accounting records follow the applicable retention period.
- Apple information: Apple manages its own App Store and review records under its policies.
Your privacy choices
You can practice without a Mac, decline Bluetooth, choose not to send diagnostics and manage Apple's analytics and review settings. There is no Haptivate account to delete.
Depending on applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information we hold; restrict or object to some processing; withdraw consent; or complain to the relevant privacy authority. Contact [email protected]. We may need proportionate information to verify your request and will explain any legal limits. We cannot remotely delete data on your phone, Mac or backups or change Apple's records for you.
Children, safeguards and policy updates
Companion does not require a child's profile or date of birth. We do not knowingly seek children's personal information through support. A parent or guardian can contact us about information a child has sent.
We use safeguards appropriate to the information and services involved, including operating-system protection for saved pairing information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Changes to this policy will appear here with a new effective date. We will provide additional notice or seek consent for changes where required by law.
