Haptivate Studio is provided by Kashif Shaikh, under the Finely Studio brand, at Fortune Prospero, Pune, India, 411048. This policy explains how information is handled when you use our Mac app or contact us about it.

Privacy and support contact: [email protected].

The short version

You do not need a Haptivate account. Your projects are stored on your Mac and approved devices exchange patterns directly over Bluetooth. We do not operate a Haptivate cloud project service or include advertising, tracking or third-party analytics SDKs in the app. Apple handles App Store purchases and services. If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to send.

Information kept on your Mac

Studio stores your project library, saved presets, settings, comparison notes and related local records. These can include pattern names and contents, your written observations, app or device versions and playback or synchronization results. The app also keeps local use dates, update-check history and review-prompt history to decide when to offer an update or request a review.

Studio does not automatically upload these projects, notes or local playback records to us. They may contain personal information if you put it in a project name, note or file.

Files you save or export are written to the location you choose. If that location is synchronized by iCloud Drive or another provider or included in a backup, that provider handles the copy under its own settings and terms. This is separate from a Haptivate cloud service.

Connecting an iPhone

Bluetooth permission allows Studio to discover and connect to Haptivate Companion. Discovery can expose a device name and Bluetooth identifier to nearby devices. Only approve devices you recognize.

An approved connection exchanges information needed for the experience, including selected patterns, pattern names and revisions, playback commands, device or app capabilities and synchronization or playback acknowledgments. This information goes between your devices; it is not routed through a Finely Studio server.

The apps remember an approved peer using local connection information and pairing material protected by the operating system's Keychain. You can disconnect, use Forget iPhone or revoke Bluetooth permission in system settings. Forgetting a connection does not erase projects or copies already saved on another device.

Apple purchases, updates and reviews

If you buy lifetime export access, Apple processes the one-time payment. Studio does not offer a subscription. Studio checks verified purchase information, such as the purchased product, transaction identifier, expiry or revocation status, to grant and restore access. We do not receive your payment-card details or Apple Account password from this process. Apple may provide us purchase reports, including product, country or region and transaction identifiers.

When Studio checks for App Store updates, it requests public version information from Apple using the app's App Store identifier and storefront country. Apple receives your network request, including its IP address. Your installed version is compared locally; your projects and notes are not part of the lookup.

Review requests use Apple's review system. The app records when it requested a review, but is not told whether you submitted one. Reviews you choose to submit are handled by Apple and may be public. See Apple's App Store privacy information.

Apple may also make store statistics and diagnostics available to us. App usage analytics supplied through App Store Connect depend on your Apple sharing settings. This is separate from an analytics SDK inside Haptivate. See Apple's analytics privacy explanation.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address, name if supplied, message and any files or diagnostics you choose to send. Our website contact form requires a name and email address and also collects an enquiry topic, app selection when relevant and message; it does not accept attachments. We use them to respond, investigate the issue and maintain the support conversation. Please send only what is needed and remove passwords, payment details and unrelated personal information from attachments.

Our support inbox uses GoDaddy Professional Email powered by Titan. GoDaddy, Titan and the providers involved in delivering and storing email process the messages you send us and may process them outside your country. See GoDaddy's privacy notice and Titan's privacy policy for their practices; this policy explains how we handle support messages.

We do not automatically send local diagnostic files to support. Messages submitted through our website are also subject to the Finely Studio website privacy policy, which covers Hostinger hosting, Cloudflare delivery and Turnstile security checks, contact-session cookies and email handling. These website services do not receive your local app projects merely because you use Studio.

Why we use information and who receives it

We use information to provide the features you request, respond to support requests, verify export access, protect the apps and meet legal obligations. Where a legal basis is required, the relevant basis is providing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in answering and resolving support or security issues, compliance with law or consent where required. Permission for Bluetooth can be withdrawn in system settings.

We do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising. Information you provide to us is accessible to the people and service providers needed to handle it. We may disclose it where legally required or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not upload your project library to an AI service.

Retention and deletion

  • Projects and files: local projects remain until you delete them. Deleting a project from Studio removes the library entry and its stored project, but does not delete separately saved presets, comparison notes, exported files, copies or backups. Manage those separately. Uninstalling the Mac app alone may leave local data behind; contact us for help locating it.
  • Connection information: use Forget iPhone before uninstalling if you want to remove the app's saved pairing information. Keychain items can outlast an app installation. Forgetting on one device does not delete the other device's files.
  • Local settings and records: these remain on the device until replaced or removed with the app's data. We cannot remotely erase your device or backup copies.
  • Ordinary support messages: we delete them within 12 months after the issue closes, unless a longer period is required by law or an active dispute. Restricted backup copies may remain until the email provider's backup cycle removes them. We keep any necessary legal or accounting records only for the applicable retention period.
  • Apple records: Apple controls retention of its own App Store, payment and review records.

Your choices and rights

You can use Studio without creating an account or sending a support message. You can decline Bluetooth access and still edit locally. You can manage Apple's analytics and review settings through your device and Apple Account settings.

Depending on applicable law, you may request access to, correction, deletion or a copy of personal information we hold, object to or restrict certain uses, withdraw consent or complain to the relevant privacy authority. Email [email protected]. We may ask for proportionate information to verify the request and will explain any legal limits. We cannot access your local project library to fulfill a request or alter Apple's records on your behalf.

Children, security and changes

Haptivate does not require a child's profile or date of birth. We do not knowingly seek children's personal information through support; a parent or guardian can contact us about information a child has sent.

We use safeguards appropriate to the information and services involved, including operating-system protections for local storage and saved pairing information. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.

We will update this page when our practices change and identify the effective date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before a new use of personal information. For Companion's separate policy, see Haptivate Companion Privacy.
